A resident pets a llama from Carlson's Loveable Llamas

Bringing State Fair to Chapel View

Staff at Chapel View Senior Health and Living go “all out” for State Fair week in late summer. It’s an exciting time of year and many Chapel View residents have enjoyed the Minnesota State Fair annually for most of their lives.

Last year, Chapel View invited Carlson’s Lloveable Llamas to visit— and residents loved meeting Carlson’s two friendly llamas! While the animals spent time with residents and staff outside, we wanted the entire building to experience the fun.

Faces Light Up Throughout Community

Two llamas were brought inside the building and went from room to room, visiting with residents who tend to stay in their rooms and keep to themselves. The llamas lit up residents’ faces throughout our community. They would walk right up to someone’s chair or even bedside to be petted. Residents were also able to feed treats to the animals.

The visit was a wonderful way to celebrate the joy animals bring us—including those at the State Fair. We want to send a huge shout out and thank you to Rick from Carlson’s Lloveable Llamas and to Administrator Paula Sparling, who led the llamas to each resident for a greeting.

A big thank you goes out to donors who help foster fullness of life at Chapel View Senior Health and Living!
